UPDATE: As of about 4:45 PM, the fire has been contained, and the evacuation order has been lifted. Crews remain on scene for mop-up.

By authority of Fremont County Fire Protection Fire Command, the evacuation for the Trout Creek Road fire area has been CANCELLED.
All evacuated residents may now return to their homes.
Residents are asked to remain vigilant for any reignitions or new fire activity. If you observe fire, smoke, or a possible reignition, call 911 immediately.
Thank you for your attentiveness and cooperation during this fire emergency. Your quick response to evacuation notices is important to protecting life and safety.

UPDATE: Milan Vinich with the Fremont County Emergency Management Agency has confirmed the information below, and shared the following notice:
Due to a fast-moving wildfire, residents in the 300–400 block of the upper end of Trout Creek Road near Fort Washakie, Wyoming, are being advised to EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY.
Do not delay. Gather household members, pets, essential medications, and necessary belongings and leave the affected area as quickly and safely as possible.
Do not enter or return to the affected area. Keep roadways clear for firefighters, law enforcement, and other emergency responders.

(Fremont County, WY) – Per the Watch Duty App, a vegetation fire in the Crooked Creek Road area in Fort Washakie is burning at an estimated 500 acres, and a Level 3 “Go! evacuation order has been issued for the 300-400 block of Trout Creek Road, as of about 4:15 PM on August 11. The Watch Duty App update cited a message from a Wireless Emergency Alert via PBS WARN, which includes the map below of the affected area.
