(Fremont County, WY) – The Level 3 evacuation status issued for Brooks Lake Road, East and West Pinnacle Drive, and Breccia Drive due to the Fish Creek Fire has decreased to a Level 2 “Set” evacuation status as of Tuesday evening, September 10, according to a message from Fremont County Emergency Management Coordinator Milan Vinich.
“Due to the containment of a wildfire threat in your area, this is a decrease from Level 3 (Go) to a LEVEL 2 (SET) Notice,” the message informs. “Please be advised that while evacuation is NO LONGER required at this time, you should continue to recognize that the possibility to evacuate at a moment’s notice exists if conditions worsen.”
“You may return to the Brooks, Pinnacle and Breccia area at this time, however please continue to monitor the situation.”
The message advises the following actions to take:
1. Stay Informed: Monitor local news, emergency services, and social media for updates on the wildfire and evacuation status.
2. Prepare Your Home: Ensure that your property is ready for any possible evacuation by clearing flammable materials and securing any loose items.
3. Continue to be prepared for Evacuation: Gather essential items such as medications, important documents, and personal belongings. Have an emergency kit ready to go at a moments notice.
4. Plan Your Route: Familiarize yourself with evacuation routes and alternate routes in case your primary route is blocked.
5. Alert Family and Neighbors: Make sure that everyone in your household and any neighbors who may need assistance are aware of the situation.
The message concludes by stating that residents “are welcome to stay voluntarily evacuated if you chose.”
