(Fremont County, WY) – The Fremont County Emergency Management Agency announced today, October 24, that the evacuation orders for many areas around the Pack Trail Fire have been decreased or released.
These areas include: Brooks Lake Lodge, Pinnacle, Breccia, and Long Creek, Union Pass, Lava Mountain Lodge, Roaring River Subdivision, Buckboard Subdivision, Double Bar J Ranch, Lava Creek Ranch, Triangle C Ranch, Pelham Lake, Sheridan Creek Camp Areas, Old Mackenzie Ranch.
“This decision comes following thorough assessments and evaluations by fire and emergency management teams,” the release states.
Specifically, the Brooks Lake Lodge, Pinnacle, Breccia, and Long Creek locations are released from any Evacuation Level.
Union Pass, Lava Mountain Lodge, Roaring River Subdivision, Buckboard Subdivision, Double Bar J Ranch, Lava Creek Ranch, Triangle C Ranch, Pelham Lake, Sheridan Creek Camp Areas, and the Old Mackenzie Ranch areas are reduced to a Level 1 “Ready” Status.
“While the immediate threat of the wildfire has been mitigated, we urge residents to remain cautious,” the release also states. “Please be on the lookout for any residual hazards such as smoldering hotspots or damaged infrastructure.”
The release advises to “continue to abide by the United States U.S. Forest Service-Bridger-Teton National Forest closure areas,” which, “does affect recreation” and is outlined by the red line in the map in the featured image above.
“We appreciate your cooperation and patience during this emergency. Our priority remains the safety and well-being of all residents. Thank you for your understanding and support while recognizing that this has been a long process.”
