(Fremont County, WY) – Fremont County Library System Director Anita Marple has been named as the recipient of the 2025 Wyoming Library Association Lifetime Achievement Award, according to a recent post shared on the Riverton Branch Library Facebook page.
The Lifetime Achievement Award “recognizes the achievements and accomplishments of a library employee throughout their library career, including service to the public and/or library community,” the WLA website informs. “It is also meant to reflect the goals of the Wyoming Library Association and the library profession as a whole.”
“Since the beginning of her career, Anita has worked hard for Fremont County and its families,” the announcement post states. “She is always striving to uphold the ideals that make the libraries a safe, welcoming place.”
“This past year hasn’t been easy for any of the libraries with budget cuts, difficult conversations about collections, and bills in legislation that threaten the integrity of what the public can choose for themselves to read. Through all this, Anita has stood for her beliefs and the right the public has for a fair and transparent relationship with their public library. Thank you, Anita, for all the work you’ve done and for remembering what a library is and can be for a community.”
