(Lander, WY) – Zecharia Morgan was sentenced Wednesday for mail destruction while working as a subcontractor mail delivery driver for South Pass City and Atlantic City residents.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Teresa McKee sentenced him to 1-year supervised probation, 50 hours of community service, and restitution payments among other things.
Morgan faced two federal misdemeanor charges related to mail destruction and discarding after residents filed complaints against him in September 2020.
In a December change of plea hearing, he pleaded guilty to destruction of mail, one of the two counts he faced last fall.
The other count, desertion of mails, was “dismissed on the motion of the United States,” according to the court documents.
