Fremont County School District No. 1 school board is taking comments for Policy CKA – “Firearms: Personnel Authorized to Carry” until 4:00 pm on July 22nd, 2019. Details on how to submit comments can be found here.
According to documents shared by the Board of Trustees of Fremont County School District No.1 the policy is described as, “Pursuant to W.S. 21-3-132, the Board of Trustees of Fremont County School District No. 1 may authorize employees to carry firearms on or in property or facilities owned or leased by Fremont County School District No. 1, subject to the terms, conditions and limitations prescribed by state law and federal law, this policy and such other policies, rules and regulations adopted by the Board of Trustees. This policy shall be administered by the Superintendent of schools.”

A special board meeting is scheduled for July 23rd, 2019 starting at 6:00 pm where the board intends to adopt this policy. Oral comments can be shared at this meeting.
