The Shrine Circus and Parade have been canceled this year, shared Fremont County Shrine Club Secretary Jim Davis. The two events were scheduled for June 24th.
The Shrine Circus operators explained they had several cancellations in their scheduled summer circuit due to COVID-19, and recently decided to cancel coming to Fremont County this year, Jim explained.
Before receiving the cancellation call, the Fremont County Shrine Club had worries about selling tickets to their main supporters, local businesses, noted Jim. With COVID-19 impacting the economy, there was a concern for folks not being able to purchase tickets. There was a lot of uncertainty around how many folks would attend as well.
Looking ahead, they are already getting on the books for next year, and hope to continue this local tradition in 2021.
