(Lander, WY) – Last month, County 10 shared a Coffee Time interview with Amber Peckham-Jones and Samuel Hartpence about their efforts to fund/build adaptive mobility vehicles for physically challenged children as a part of “Go Baby Go!“
“Go Baby Go!” is a nationwide effort that provides information on how to modify battery-operated ride-on cars “to give children with mobility impairments an opportunity to access play, exploration, and social encounters.”
The LOR Foundation stepped in to fund the local project once Peckham-Jones presented the idea, and after securing that funding, Hartpence, a teacher at Pathfinder High School, began retrofitting the vehicles with help from his robotics club students.
When we last spoke to Peckham-Jones and Hartpence, they teased that the cars would hopefully be ready by the 4th of July, and the Lander Inclusion Movement recently announced that the “Go Baby Go!” cars will indeed make their debut at the Lander Pioneer Days 4th of July Parade this Friday.
