(Fremont County, WY) – Two more scam attempts have been making the rounds in the 10 lately, which are targeting credit union customers and drivers with “unpaid fines.”
In late September, Grand Altitude Federal Credit Union, which has locations in Lander, Riverton, and Shoshoni, shared the following message along with a screenshot of the scam attempt text being sent to its customers.
“We have heard that individuals are receiving text messages like the ones below – These text messages are not from Grand Altitude FCU, they are a scam! Please DO NOT click the link and report the message as junk.”
Just two days ago, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office also shared the following details on another texting scam.
“Another scam residents are receiving. If you receive a text message like this, don’t click on it, simply delete it. The world is full of scams these days. Stay vigilant and if something doesn’t look or sound right then it’s probably a scam. Don’t become a victim!”
