(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that for today, May 29, cloudy skies in the morning will gradually clear by the afternoon, with highs in the middle 80s and south winds 15 to 25 mph.
Tonight, the low-pressure system that has been meandering over Nevada for the past few days will finally break loose and drift to the vicinity of Salt Lake, and Pacific moisture will spread northeast with it. This will result in increasing clouds and much-needed scattered showers and thunderstorms mainly after midnight tonight, lows in the mid 50s with south/southeast winds becoming southwest and increasing to 20 to 30 mph.
Tomorrow, Saturday, the low-pressure center will track to Wyoming, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. We could see a tenth to a quarter inch of rainfall, with even more locally for many heavier individual thunderstorms. Due to the clouds and rainfall, highs will be much cooler, around 70 degrees, with southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph. Thunderstorms on Saturday may produce 40 mph wind gusts and small hail.
