The Campbell County Fire Department (CCFD) shared this afternoon, that the Horse Creek Butte Fire, which started the evening of September 2nd, is “estimated to be several thousand acres and is estimated to be 50 percent contained.”
The cause of the fire remains is under investigation, according to CCFD’s update, and the multi-agency coordinated operations will continue throughout the day.
The weather pattern, according to the Fire and Smoke Map shared below, indicates the smoke from this fire is mostly impacting the northeast corner of Wyoming and down into Nebraska.
