It is back to school season! I hope everyone had a great summer.
Please welcome John Tozzi as our new maintenance worker. John has lived for 10 years in the Lander area, and he plans to move to Hudson within weeks.
I attended a US Army Corps of Engineers training on July 31st, furthering my education as Hudson’s floodplain manager. During the training, I confirmed the USACE and FEMA flood mitigation grant applications are still pending.
Town Council approved the resolution for Frank’s Meats Annexation Report and the proposed vicious dog ordinance. September 17, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Town Hall is the public hearing date for both issues.
The Water Meter Replacement Project will start in September.
Hudson received a donation of two unimproved lots by the cemetery from two sisters, Cheryl Gillum and Connie Norwood.
Mosquito spraying will continue Wednesday evenings.
Meetings continue with HDR Engineering and WWDC regarding the Level 1 Water Master Plan.
Communication continues regarding Hudson’s DEQ SPURR project for Main St.
I contacted Bott Monument to design a veteran’s memorial for Gold Star Memorial Park. It is simple with clean lines. We will need additional funding to cover the cost of a monument.
A new fence, cattle guard, and livestock gate are installed at the cemetery. The Berce family will reimburse the town’s expenses per Antone Berce’s wishes.
Investigation for a recognition/thank you memorial will start.
The Cemetery Committee will meet Friday, August 30th, at 3:30 p.m. at Town Hall for future planning.
Town Council recently supported the modified 1/2% sales tax ballot initiative to support local air service, ground transportation (WRTA), ambulance service and local economic development.
The 1% sales tax for roads and infrastructure will also be on the November ballot and this tax has been an essential resource to cover emergency expenses for the Water Treatment Plant, Sewer Lagoon and Lift Station. Please call Town Hall if you have questions regarding this vital revenue stream.
