(Hudson, WY) – Hudson Mayor Sherry Oler publishes the Mayor’s Minute monthly in the Hudson newsletter. Below is her minute for the month of July.
Summer is going by really fast. Warranty replacement of the Town Hall floor is completed as of July 23rd.
Monthly Level 1 Water Master Plan meetings continue and are progressing. A public
meeting will be set in the spring of next year.
Homeland Security requested an asset inventory of property in Hudson’s flood plain and I continue to work on the project.
Hudson Community Heroes reported donations for Hudson’s Wreaths Across America are within $500 of the goal, and they expect to have all funds by the end of July. Hudson will participate in earnest in the Wreaths Across America program this year.
I have been working with the Berce Trust Foundation to replace the fence at the cemetery and install a cattle guard. This will be complete hopefully by the end of this week.
Final changes to the proposed dog ordinance have been made, and a public hearing will be held in August.
Plans are in the works to procure a monument at Gold Star Memorial Park and a memorial bench at the cemetery recognizing the Berce Family’s commitment to Hudson and their generosity.
I continue working on the Franks Meats Annexation maps and the required Annexation Report, and both will be submitted for town approval on August 13 and to set a public hearing date.
I do not have a date certain for Viper Underground to begin the water meter project, I am hoping to start in August.
We hired Taylor Anderson as our new permanent part-time assistant in the Clerk’s office; Kathy will be focusing on training her in the coming months.
Interviews were held to fill the open Maintenance Position, and we are waiting for the background check results before finalizing employment.
In support of suicide prevention, I volunteered at Lander’s Annual Pig Roast, with pork seasoning/prep, pulling the pork, and serving the pork sandwiches last weekend.
The SPURR program picked up the idea boards that were set up in Town Hall, I am looking forward to the next step.
Next month, I will focus on applying for grant funding to assess replacement of the sewer lift station, lagoon and distribution lines.
The cemetery irrigation lines and controllers are starting to fail and I will start searching for grant funds for the project.
High storm winds recently dropped some of the town’s trees on the streets and a pickup was squashed, we will be seeing insurance claims for the damage soon.
Our summer helper will be leaving her job on July 26, thank you Kadance for a job well done!
