(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, April 15, will be partly cloudy with a high in the mid-60s, and winds increasing to speeds of 25 to 35 mph from the west/southwest as the pressure gradient tightens, in response to an incoming Pacific Northwest low-pressure center.
Tonight we’ll see increasing clouds, with a low temperature right around the freezing mark of 32 degrees, and southwest winds will continue to blow at 20 to 30 mph, gusting up to 40 mph.
Tomorrow, Thursday, the deepening trough of low pressure will advance into Idaho and western Montana. A warm, unstable, and increasingly moist southwest flow out ahead of the trough will increase our chances of scattered showers and potential for thunderstorms. It will be very windy, with southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph and some gusts up to 40 mph. Any thunderstorms that do form will likely have 50-mile-per-hour wind gusts along with some small hail. Togwotee Pass will likely receive around an inch of snow by day’s end, along with some snow pellets from any thunderstorms there.
