Summer Reading continues this month with Unearth Your Story, a two-part workshop that pairs creative writing and visual art, in which you will create, write, and illustrate a scene: perhaps something from your own life, something from a work in progress, or something you’ve entirely made up for this event!
In the first workshop, join writer Austin Hawkins for the creative writing portion. During this session, we will discuss cultivating ideas and crafting them into page-turning scenes. We will explore the motivation for our pieces, what compels us to write them, and how to turn those ideas into a story.
After you’ve penned your scene during the first workshop in the series, join artist Twila Estrada for the second part to bring your scene to life with a variety of visual media! No prior artistic experience is necessary for this session and art supplies will be provided.
The two workshop sessions will each be held a week apart and you can catch them at all three Fremont County libraries. See below for dates and times at each branch:
