There are lots of fun summer reading activities for children and teens coming up at the Lander Library in June. Mark your calendars for these:
June 5 Dino Romp – 3-4 pm, all ages – Join an outdoor celebration of our “Unearth a Story” theme with chalk art dinosaur prints, popcorn, and music.
June 10 CAVES – 10:30 am – best for preschool through 6th grade – Sinks Canyon State Parks will present a fun hands-on program about caves.
June 12 Tiny Tots Time: BUGS — 10:30 am – best for ages 0-3 and their caregivers – We’ll explore bug-themed stories and songs.
Chess Club – Thursdays from 4-5 pm in June & July– Youth ages 5-18 are welcome to drop in and play chess whether you are just learning the pieces or ready for more advanced strategy.
Thursday Teen Activities – 4-5 pm – Teens entering grade 7th and up are welcome to come hang out with other teens and enjoy games and crafts. The Teen Advisory Board meets the third Thursday of the month to help plan activities.
June 17 Sing-a-long – 10:30 am all ages – Join Mr. Wilson for a fun musical exploration of underground-themed children’s songs.
June 17 MOVIE: Holes – 1 pm. Rated PG
June 23 Minecraft Adventure for Teens: Greek Mythology – 2:00 -3:30 pm – Teens grades 7 and up ONLY. Space is limited. Registration required (registration opens June 5).
June 24 UNDERGROUND ANIMALS – 10:30 am –best for preschool through 6th grade – Sinks Canyon State Parks will present a fun hands-on program about underground animals.
June 26 Storytime Dance Party – 10:30 am – Geared towards toddlers and preschoolers but everyone is welcome to join us for stories, songs, and lots of movement!
June 29 Tween Graphic Novel Book Club –3 pm – ages 10-14 – We will be discussing Enola Holmes. Sign up and get a book by June 22.
