(Fremont County, WY) – The jury trial for Crowheart resident Quinlan (James) Hernandez has been reset for January 6, 2025, following an October 2 motion to continue hearing overseen by the Honorable Scott W Skavdahl in the U.S. District Court of Casper.
Hernandez was charged with four Counts of aggravated sexual abuse, two Counts of sexual abuse and three Counts of sexual abuse of a minor back in April, after a missing 14-year-old was located at his residence, who later reported the physical and sexual abuse to investigators, according to federal Court documents.
Originally an August 26 jury trial was set, but was then rescheduled for October 21 through an ends of justice continuance after substitute counsel was appointed to Hernandez.
However, a non-publicly available motion to continue was filed on September 26, which was ultimately granted at the October 2 motion hearing, and the January 6 date was set.
Hernandez faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, up to $2,250,000 in fines, five years-to-life of supervised release, $45,000 in special assessment fees for the Justice Victims of Trafficking Act and $900 in other special assessment fees.
