(Ethete, WY) – Coming off a 60-50 win over Lodge Grass in Montana, the Lady Chiefs pulled out a comfortable win Thursday night as Thermopolis visited Alfred Redman Sr. Gymnasium for a much-anticipated mid-season 2A matchup.
Less than a year ago, the Lady Bobcats proved to be a problem for Wyoming Indian late in the season, handing them two hard losses right before the state tournament. But it was clear that Aleta Moss and her girls figured out something on the defensive side of the ball in the time since.
Thermopolis’ offense presence was essentially made absent by the intense defensive pressure put forth by the Lady Chiefs as the clock ticked through the game. Moss drew on her deep bench, rotating players in and out to keep up the pressure until the final buzzer.
Star players Taya Dixey and Paisley Blackburn began to find their rhythms in the second half, driving to the basket to draw contact, and Blackburn getting hot from beyond the perimeter. Delaney Gambler was efficient on both ends of the court for Thermopolis, constantly forcing turnovers in the paint that would end in easy fast break points for the Lady Chiefs.

The Lady Chiefs will look to hold momentum through the weekend as they face Lame Deer at home tonight at 5:30 p.m. follows by a visit to Greybull Saturday at 1:30 p.m..
