(Ethete, WY) – On a celebratory senior night in Ethete, Alfred Redman Sr. Gymnasium at Wyoming Indian High School was packed as the Lady Chiefs took their second victory of the season over the Wind River High School Lady Cougars, 83-59, Thursday evening.

Wyoming Indian gained control from the opening quarter, capitalizing on turnovers that quickly turned into points on the other end of the floor. The Lady Cougars struggled to slow the Chiefs’ pace, and what began as a competitive matchup soon tilted heavily in favor of the home team’s fast pace.
Senior night festivities added to the energy in the building, and the crowd had extra reason to cheer every time a shot fell from beyond the arc. 15 t-shirts were given away for every three-pointer made, thrown into the crowd. Seniors recognized Thursday were Jailyn Norse, Temiah Kaulaity, Taya Dixey, Jamie Shoyo-Ferris, Dinayla Augustine, Takara Ferris, and Gabriella Headley.
Taya Dixey delivered a dominant performance for the Lady Chiefs, pouring in 26 points. She knocked down three 3-pointers in the first half and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line, setting the tone offensively while helping her team build a comfortable lead.
For Wind River, Morningsky Littleshield led the way with 21 points, while Tanayah Burnett added 17. The Lady Cougars, a young squad with no seniors and just two wins on the season, continued to compete despite the uphill battle.
With the regular season winding down, the Lady Chiefs now turn their focus to conference play next week, where they will look to secure the No. 1 seed and punch their ticket to the state tournament in Casper the following week. Check out photos from senior night below:
