(Arapahoe, WY) – The Fort Washakie Lady Eagles earned a 49–20 win over the Arapaho Lady Warriors in an afternoon matchup Saturday at the New Year Native Jamboree, using aggressive defense and strong help from the bench to control the game from start to finish.
Fort Washakie pressured the ball consistently, full-court at times, forcing constant turnovers and limiting Arapaho’s scoring chances. The Lady Warriors showed tough effort throughout, but Fort Washakie’s depth and defensive intensity proved too much to handle.
Izelee Hereford scored on a breakaway for the Lady Eagles. The Arapaho Charter High School girls met during a timeout in the closing minutes of the game Saturday. Harmony Duran tried to get the ball up the court as she experienced high pressure defense from Izelee Hereford. Players gave high fives at the end of the local matchup between Arapaho Charter and Fort Washakie Saturday in Arpahoe.
