(Casper, WY) – The Lander Lady Tigers left no doubt Friday, suffocating Lovell from wire to wire in a dominant 42-21 victory that punched their ticket to the state championship game.

It was a masterclass in defense. Lovell, who had turned heads just a day earlier by knocking off #1-ranked Wheatland in the first round, ran into a Lady Tiger squad that showed no mercy. Lander held Lovell to an abysmal 7-of-36 from the floor, and at one point near the end of the third quarter had built the lead out to 34-9, making the final score feel closer than the game actually was.
Daisy Goklish was the engine driving Lander on both ends of the floor, finishing with 17 points and five steals in a performance that showcased just how complete a player she is. Junior Paisley Hollingshead was also disruptive, adding 14 points and three steals of her own as the Lady Tigers turned defense into offense all night long. Senior Daegan Reinhardt anchored things in the paint, pulling down nine rebounds and providing the physicality inside that kept Lovell from finding any rhythm.

The victory sets up a marquee matchup. The Lady Tigers advance to the state championship game today at 2:30 at Casper College, where they’ll face #1-ranked Cody in what will be the fourth and final meeting between the two programs this season. Lander is still searching for their first win against the red-hot Lady Broncs. With a state title on the line, the stage couldn’t be bigger.
