(Lander, WY) – The Lander Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Community Awards Luncheon on Friday, February 14, at the Lander Community and Convention Center, which honors various businesses and individuals for their contributions to the town of Lander.
Awards recognize longevity, beautification, innovation/creativity, community involvement, and contributions over a lifetime.
Chamber Executive Director Owen Sweeney continued his role as host for the 2025 Luncheon, with Wyoming Catholic College President Kyle Washut delivering the keynote speech.
“It was another great Community Awards Luncheon,” Sweeney said of this year’s awards.
“We had a great turnout, and it was wonderful to see the spontaneous standing ovations for MJ and Lucy; those were pretty clear indications that we picked the right people. I have to thank Meghan Manning, our Program & Event Coordinator, who worked so hard to carry on the tradition of the Lander Community Awards and put on another great event for the Chamber. A big thanks also to our presenting sponsor Fremont Toyota, gold sponsor CB&T, silver sponsor St. John’s Health, and all of our sponsors who help to make our events possible and so memorable.”
This year’s Community Award recipients included:
- Rookie of the Year Award – Meadowlark Market and Kitchen
- Beautification Award – Edward Jones Financial Advisor Alyssa Johnson, (the log cabin at 911 Main Street)
- Anchor Award – Lander Old Timers Rodeo Association (LOTRA)
- Lander Ambassador of the Year – John New
- Spirit of Lander Award – MJ Greene
- Immediate Past Chairman – Chris VonHoltum, President, Central Bank & Trust
- Lifetime Contribution Award – Lucy Cone
