(Lander, WY) – The usual motto for the annual Special Olympics Wyoming Jackalope Jump fundraisers is “Freezin’ for a Reason,” but taking the jump into the pool of water during the 80-degree temperatures at the 2026 jump on March 21 in Lander actually seemed like a nice way to cool down on the hot and sunny day.
This year’s Lander jumpers were a small but mighty crew consisting of three teams and two individual jumpers. In total, the splashers raised over $4,500, all of which will go toward funding Special Olympics athletes as they attend various events across the state during the annual games.

Teams
- Arapahoe Unified – (Jalene Hanway, Margaret Duran, Dean Littleshield, Salyce Sage, Grayson Daw, Tatiana Montoya)
- Community Entry Services – (Ron Grogan, Ceirra Burnham, Ryker Aurand, Nicholas McDougal, Tayo Bath, and Nick Eisnnicher)
- Rotary – (Senator Cale Case, Monika Leininger)
Individuals
- Thor Sage
- Marty Brammer

Each year, various awards are given out to jumpers as well, and the 2026 winners were: Marty Brammer (Best Costume, Most Money Raised By Individual Jumper), Arapahoe Unified (Cool School Challenger Award), CES (Biggest Group), and Thor Sage (Most Money Raised By A Special Olympics Athlete).
