(Lander, WY)—Recent opinion pieces piqued County 10’s interest in learning more about a political action committee (PAC) called Lander Schools for the Future. We had never heard of them before the opinion pieces and thought maybe the community would also like to learn more.
Here’s how they responded to our questions:
Lander Schools for the Future is a political action committee (PAC) consisting of two PAC members: a director and a treasurer. It was formed in January 2024 to support reasonable and responsible school district leadership who represent all students. With three open school board seats this election cycle, it was important to choose three qualified candidates. Over the course of several months, they solicited input from a wide cross-section of the community for people who would provide excellent leadership to the school district. The names given were of other respected community members who people believe represent their values in the FCSD #1 school system.
Lander Schools for the Future conducted extensive interviews with the suggested candidates to determine how well they fit the mission of supporting responsible and reasonable leadership for all students. Buck Tilton, Mara Gans, and Daniel McLane were selected and are enthusiastic about supporting students, staff, and parents. They are each exceptional educators with deep roots within the Lander community. They understand the role of a school board member and the importance of building a foundation for all students.
Over the next several weeks, Lander will see a variety of marketing techniques to reach different parts of the community such as mailers, door hangers, canvassers, in-person events, and more.

Lander Schools for the Future will host an Open House this Saturday, August 17th from 2-4 PM at Mamaw’s Kitchen at 260 Grandview Dr.
