(Lander, WY) – The Lander Senior Center is “rolling and walking in style with new mobility equipment.”
Kirsten Brown recently shared with County 10 that she was “lucky to be chosen as a part of the Lander Womentum Cohort 8.”
“Within the program’s timespan, we had to choose a community service project to be a part of,” Brown explained. She said that she had heard “many times” about the need for new mobility equipment at the Lander Senior Center to aid their mobility closet, which provides equipment free of charge to the Seniors in our community.
“Most of this equipment is well-loved when donated, and is workable, but not in great condition or, as Jane (Nolde) at the Center said, held together with duct tape,” Brown commented. She then explained that she was in a unique position as Branch Manager with Wind River Home Oxygen, so she reached out to Nolde at the Lander Senior Center and was able to help provide some new mobility equipment for the seniors in our community.
“Amy Vincent, with the LOR Foundation helped write a grant, and Wind River Home Oxygen helped offset some of the shipping costs, assembled the equipment, and delivered 33 new wheelchairs, walkers, knee scooters, rollator walkers, and more to support their community closet.”
Brown said she is thankful to Wind River Home Oxygen and the LOR Foundation for the funding and delivery support, and to Lander Womentum for the inspiration.
