(Fremont County, WY) – A Level 2 Evacuation Notice has been issued by the Fremont County Emergency Management Agency and Emergency Management Coordinator Milan Vinich on September 28 (as of 7:30 PM), for various areas in the Fish Creek Fire and Pack Trail Fire areas.
The Level 2 Evacuation, which means residents must “BE SET” to evacuate and that they must prepare to leave at a moment’s notice, is for the following locations:
- Brooks Lake Lodge
- Brooks Lake Rd.
- East & West Pinnacle Dr.
- Breccia Dr. and US Hwy 26
- Entrance to Brooks Lake Rd.
- Falls Camp Ground
- Lava Mountain Lodge
- Roaming River Subdivision
- Buckboard Subdivision
- Double Bar J Ranch
- Lava Creek Ranch
- Triangle C Ranch
- Long Creek Ranch
- Paintbrush & Carriage Dr.
- Long Creek Subdivision
- The old KOA
“Due to an increasing wildfire threat in your area, Fremont County Emergency Management has been advised to issue a Level 2 (SET) Notice,” the statement reads. “Please be advised that while evacuation is NOT mandatory at this level, residents should consider voluntarily relocating to a safer place such as family or friends outside the affected area due to a change in anticipated fire behavior.”
The release also states that the Bourbon Subdivision is being placed in a Level 1 (READY) Notice.
For these locations, evacuation is not required at this time, but folks should prepare to evacuate if conditions worsen.
The Fremont County Emergency Management Agency recommends the following actions to take:
1. Stay Informed: Monitor local news, emergency services, and social media for updates on the wildfire and evacuation status.
2. Prepare Your Home: Ensure that your property is ready for any possible evacuation by clearing flammable materials and securing any loose items.
3. Continue to be Prepared for a full Evacuation: Gather essential items such as medications, important documents, and personal belongings. Have an emergency kit ready to go.
