While most of Wyoming has been experiencing record highs over the past few weeks, a “strong cold front” is expected to move in this weekend.
On Sunday and Monday, gusty winds and low humidity may lead to elevated “critical fire weather conditions over central and southern portions of the state,” according to the National Weather Service in Riverton. This is accompanied by “an increasing chance of showers and some thunderstorms.”
Wind, rain, and thunderstorms may seem typical for Wyoming summers, but adding to the mix is that cold front which is expected to turn those rain “showers into snow in the northern mountains Sunday night and Monday.”
