(Riverton, WY) – The Riverton School Board honored Lindsey Cox Tuesday night with the Rec Board Volunteer of the Year Award, recognizing her commitment to service and community involvement.
Vice chair Terri Kucera, who presented the award, described Cox as exceptional and dedicated, while noting that her volunteerism has “Significantly enriched our community and inspired others.” Board chair Bruce Berg thanked her directly, saying, “Thank you for all you do for our city.”
Cox has spent five years on the Little League Board, three years with the Legion Board, and has also volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club. She has helped organize community clean-ups, like getting the baseball team to pull weeds at Smiths and clean up the library corner entrance. Lindsey has also put in work to help raise funds for CES through dancing with the stars and led efforts to hang flags along Main Street, over the years.
She says her motivation is to lead by setting an example. “My main goal is to set an example for my kids to take initiative when they see something that needs to be done.” said Cox.
The Special Olympics received this year’s group volunteer award.
