(Riverton, WY) – Join Arts in Action for a free music recital featuring Dr. Brooks Whitmore on piano and Dan Foster on clarinet this coming Saturday, September 7, at 2 PM, in the Community Room at the Riverton Branch Library.
Music will include the works of Brahms, Chopin, and others.
“As a music professor at Central Wyoming College, I’m lucky to work with many wonderful local musicians,” shared Jeremy Cochran, Arts in Action President. “Mr. Foster and Dr. Whitmore are truly exceptional performers and have been working for many weeks to prepare a fantastic program. I can’t wait for the community to hear it.”
Brooks Whitmore holds degrees in piano performance from the Universities of Wisconsin (summa cum laude), Illinois, and Texas (Doctor of Musical Arts), according to his biography. He has accompanied and participated in numerous productions across the U.S. and worldwide. He learned from prestigious teachers. Whitmore and his family moved to Fremont County in 2021, and he currently teaches K-3 music at Fremont County School District #1.
Dan Foster started playing the clarinet at age 10 and quickly fell in love with music, according to his biography. He earned numerous accolades throughout high school and college. He toured across the U.S. and internationally with bands and orchestras. Dan is in his 10th year of teaching and is currently the middle school band director at Riverton Middle School.
The performance is produced by Arts in Action, a local non-profit dedicated to promoting the arts in the Riverton area.
