(Riverton, WY) – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fremont County and Maker Space 307 teamed up to make a few hundred paper flower bouquets for the residents and staff at local assisted living and hospice facilities.
Around 300 bouquets, tied with handwritten messages of encouragement, are being delivered by BBBSFC Program Director Kara Hancock today, February 13th to Morning Star, Westward Heights, Wind River Rehab, Frontier Hospice and Help for Health.
Kits were put together for kiddos and volunteers to create four bouquets, one for them and three for the project. Each bouquet consists of 5 flowers, 3 leaves, 1 tissue, 1 ribbon, and 1 card. The kits were put together with the help of Maker Space 307 who have the tools, like a laser cutter, to mass-produce the intricate little pieces.
This project not only provided a fun, interactive activity for the BBBSFC “bigs” and “littles” to do together but is a way to let the residents of care facilities, who have not had visitors since last year, know they are in our thoughts, Kara explained.
