The LOR Foundation welcomes Michelle Escudero as its Lander, Wyoming Program Officer. This announcement coincides with news of a $25,000 LOR grant to the Lander Community Foundation, to support its COVID-19 Relief Fund.
“What inspires me to work with the LOR Foundation is its listen-first approach—that’s rare among foundations, but it’s the standard at LOR,” said Michelle. “And right now, what we’re hearing is the need for basic frontline services. One of my first responsibilities as a LOR program officer is to address that need, starting with the grant to the Lander Community Foundation.”
The $25,000 grant to LCF will support the organizations that work with those who are most deeply affected by the crisis.
As LOR responds to an immediate need of the COVID-19 crisis, it also remains committed to its goal of helping communities bring forward and activate solutions that improve quality of life.
“Michelle Escudero is an important addition to our team, not only as we search for solutions to the current crisis, but as we take on the challenges and opportunities of life in the rural West,” said Gary Wilmot, executive director at LOR. “Michelle’s been taking the lead on all kinds of issues in Lander, in service, as a board member, and as a parent for years. I know her contributions in this new role will serve LOR and the community today—and for years in the future.”
Michelle brings a strong background in community leadership to LOR. She is a trustee for Fremont County School District 1; she served on the board of the Lander Community Foundation for over eight years and lead community projects with the Lander Art Center, Lander Forward, League of Women Voters Fremont County and ATLAS (At Lander Arts and Sciences), among others.
