All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
(Lander, WY) – Lander Police Department Interim Chief Kelly Waugh confirmed with County 10 today, January 12, that there are “multiple persons of interest” with charges pending in relation to the January 9 bar altercation that resulted in one fatality.
“We have identified more than one person of interest,” Waugh shared, adding that the LPD is “continuing to work with the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation to narrow down some details” and is also “working with the Fremont County prosecutor’s office and DCI on how soon charges will be pressed.”
Waugh said that investigators are finalizing details to “ensure that the proper charges are filed.”
Waugh went on to share that at that point, they will be able to release names and charges, which he foresees “happening within the next couple of days.”
County 10 has submitted a public docket request to the Fremont County Coroner’s Office (which are typically completed in two to three weeks), and will provide further updates on the case as they become available.
