(Laramie, WY) – Lander Valley High School Future Business Leaders of America advisor John Rounds was recently named as the Wyoming FBLA Adviser of the year at the 2026 Wyoming FBLA State Leadership Conference in Laramie, which took place March 18-20.
Only one FBLA adviser from the state receives the honor each year, after that person is nominated and later selected from those in the nomination pool. Rounds said he didn’t find out he was receiving the award until it was announced at the conference.
“It is an honor to be recognized as the Outstanding FBLA adviser for Wyoming FBLA in 2026,” Rounds shared with County 10. “It was especially rewarding as my daughter, Lyla, the acting Wyoming FBLA State Secretary, was able to present the award to me this year. It is a testament to the great student members we have had over the years, including this year, and I feel privileged to work with such amazing students.”
Rounds went on to credit fellow FBLA advisers Rachel Peters and Josie Rounds as being instrumental in his selection for the award.
“I truly would like to share this award with both Rachel Peters and Josie Rounds. Rachel is my co-advisor at LVHS, and she is a great partner in leading this club. Josie is the LMS advisor, and with the wonderful work she does, we have created a feeder program for LVHS FBLA that has helped the club to grow and be as successful as it has become.”
Rounds added that at the same conference, LVHS FBLA had 13 of 17 attendees place in the top 4 in their respective events and also qualify for nationals this summer in San Antonio. He also said he would send a recap of the student accomplishments in the coming days.
