There’s nothing like fresh pie, cookies, and good company to start the day—and that’s exactly what went down during the latest McDonald’s Breakfast Meet & Greet at Lander City Hall.
The event offered a perfect opportunity to welcome Lander’s new mayor, Missy White, and connect with some of the folks who keep the city moving—literally. From the Lander Police Department to the hardworking Parks & Recreation team, the room was full of familiar faces and friendly conversations.
McDonald’s crew members Stacey Postel, Manager of Lander McDonald’s, and Amber Kuntz, Assistant Manager, brought their signature hospitality to the gathering. They shared laughs and breakfast with local officers—an ongoing connection that reflects McDonald’s close relationship with the department.
Meanwhile, the Parks & Rec team chatted about spring prep. With school field trips already kicking off and baseball and softball season just around the corner, they’re hiring seasonal help (18+ welcome to apply). After a mild winter with just a short four-week ice rink season, they’re gearing up for the busy months ahead—assembling bleachers, turning on water systems, and opening public restrooms. The breakfast was much-needed fuel before the workday.

Mayor Missy White, still settling into her new role, was open about the learning curve. “Mayor and council set the direction, but the city workers are the ones who make the city happen,” she said. She credited the city team for their dedication and self-sufficiency—a sentiment echoed by Stacey, who noted that McDonald’s operates the same way. “Amber and the staff know what needs to be done and they do it. They don’t need me for all of the day-to-day business.”
Mayor White is especially eager to learn more about city projects like the Lincoln Street Project and plans to join some hands-on field visits. As it turns out, she and Stacey discovered they have something else in common: road cycling. Stacey’s husband, Craig Postel, McDonald’s of Central Wyoming Supervisor, is a cyclist—just like Mayor White.
The morning wrapped with a few laughs about how to address the new mayor. “Mrs. Mayor? Madam Mayor?” joked County 10’s Will Hill. Missy smiled and said she’s still getting used to the title.
“I appreciate McDonald’s bringing treats to the hard-working city crew and making the effort to learn more about what’s happening in the city. We’ve got a terrific team of folks working in the city,” said Mayor White. “As I become more and more familiar with the workings of Lander, the more and more impressed I am with Lander city staff. Thank you for providing an opportunity to showcase their efforts.”
All in all, it was a warm, welcoming start to the day—and a great example of how McDonald’s is more than just a restaurant. It’s a community partner, connecting people over breakfast and conversation.
“It was a great gathering with City staff, County 10, and McDonald’s. It is always nice to take the time to talk to our community neighbors,” stated Anne Even, Community Development Coordinator. “So many of our employees knew the McDonald’s staff by name and it was fun to see everyone catch up at City Hall. We are so thankful for the food that was provided!”
