Fremont County Coroner Mark Stratmoen shared at the Fremont County Commissioners’ meeting the number of coroner cases remains ahead of last year at this time.
There have been 94 cases so far this year compared to 83 at the same time last year.
Non-natural cases have doubled compared to last year with 35 so far in 2019 and only 17 at this time in 2018. These cases include: suicide, homicide and accident.

- suicide – 2018 (4) and 2019 (6)
- homicide – 2018 (1) and 2019 (6)
- accident – 2018 (12) and 2019 (23)
2019 accidents include:
- motor vehicle: 7
- direct drug/alcohol toxicity: 5
- falls: 4 – average age 87
- drowning: 2
- asphyxia: 2
- carbon monoxide: 1
- hypothermia: 1
