(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, September 19, we can expect a good chance of showers and thunderstorms as the low tracks to the Wyoming-Idaho border.
The heaviest rain and best chance of small hail will occur across northern Fremont County, namely Dubois, Crowheart, and the Wind River Canyon. Southwest winds will blow at 15 to 25 mph, with gusts of 30 mph, and thunderstorms could bring 40 mph gusts. Under partly sunny skies, highs will be cooler, only around 70 degrees.
Tonight, the low-pressure center will track right across central Wyoming, and the heaviest rainfall will likely occur across northern Fremont County, just north of the low center. The rest of the county will have a good shot of additional thunderstorms as well. Lipson says we can also expect small hail and 40 mph wind gusts with some of these storms, along with vivid lightning. Under cloudy skies tonight, lows will be in the upper 40s.
