The Fremont County Emergency Management Agency recently shared that the National Weather Service (NWS) is gauging interest in offering weather spotter training courses.
“Whether you’re a weather enthusiast or just want to play a vital role in storm safety, this class will provide you with the knowledge and tools to accurately report weather conditions to the NWS,” Fremont County Emergency Management Agency shared on their Facebook page.
“As a trained spotter, you’ll be part of a critical network of volunteers helping to improve local forecasting and public safety.”
The classes will cover topics such as identifying severe weather conditions, reporting techniques, safety tips for severe weather situations, and more.
The class needs a minimum number of participants in order for it to take place, so those interested should contact the Fremont County Emergency Management Agency at fcema@fremontcountywy.gov, (307) 856-2374, or you can DM the Facebook page linked above.
