UPDATE @ 12:56 pm: A 79.4 mph gust was recorded at Hunt Field, according to an update released at 12:48 pm.
(Fremont County, WY) – A special weather statement was issued just after 12 pm for areas around Dubois, Lander, Riverton & Shoshoni until 3 pm Sunday.
A 59.8 mph wind gust was recorded at Lander’s Hunt Field just before noon today.
“Scattered showers and thunderstorms are producing gusty outflow wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph,” according to the National Weather Service in Riverton.
“Occasional lightning and brief periods of heavy rain are also possible with some of the stronger storms.”
