(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that we had strong northwest winds last night (Riverton recorded a 52 mph wind gust), which helped erode the temperature inversion in our area, but also caused some significant wind chill.
As for today, January 22, Lipson reports we can expect another cold front to move into the area, but advises that it won’t be as cold as the recent Arctic cold front.
He says we can also expect some northern winds gusting up to 35 mph this morning, diminishing into tonight. Snow showers are possible in northern Fremont County, and the Wind River Canyon area could also see localized snow showers accumulating up to 1-3 inches, under partly cloudy skies tonight.
The National Weather Service in Riverton also reported that high temperatures will be in the 20’s and upper teens today, with lows tonight in the single digits for most.
