(Lander, WY) – Anglers and outdoor enthusiasts have a new spot to enjoy along the Popo Agie River. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has opened the Popo Agie Public Access Area, just off Hwy 789 between Lander and Country Garden Lane.
The new site features a road and parking area on state land, making it easier to access a great stretch of river while continuing to support local grazing operations.
The project was a team effort, supported by the Office of State Lands and Investments and the Popo Agie Anglers, the local Trout Unlimited chapter.
“The Popo Agie Anglers are excited to fund and support Popo Agie fishing access for the Lander and Hudson communities,” said Popo Agie Angler President Peter Cella in a media release. “Having additional access areas is increasingly important as the popularity of fishing increases in our region.”
