(Fremont County, WY) – The National Weather Service in Riverton advises of elevated fire weather conditions for parts of Fremont County for today, April 9.
The NWSR shared that today will be “windy and dry with elevated fire weather conditions” for areas “across the Wind Corridor,” which includes the Wind River Basin and Lander Foothills.
Wind gusts up to 40-50 mph are possible throughout much of the day, and the NWSR also advises that Friday/Saturday could see record-high temperatures.
The Riverton Fire Department also recently reminded people to check weather conditions before “controlled burns,” especially on days like today.
