(Fremont County, WY) – The National Weather Service in Riverton has extended the snow melt flood advisory issued for portions of Fremont County through 7:00 AM on June 14.
The advisory was issued on Monday, June 10.
The NWSR stated that flooding caused by snowmelt is expected to continue as temperatures rise, which will affect a portion of central Wyoming, including Fremont County.
Gauge reports indicate the melting will result in minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas, some low-water crossings becoming impassable, and elevated river and stream flows.
Some locations that will experience flooding include: Lander, Hudson, Milford, Sinks Canyon State Park, Frye Lake, Worthen Meadows Reservoir, Sinks Canyon Campground and Lander
Hunt Field.
