(Fremont County, WY) – The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Red Flag Warning for Fremont County, in effect from 12 PM until 9 PM tonight, August 7.
“A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.”
The NWSR is calling for high temperatures in the upper 70s to mid 80s, low humidity (as low as 9%), and western winds blowing at 15 to 25 mph (with gusts up to 35 mph).
The NWSR also issued an Air Quality Alert yesterday, August 6, which will expire today at 11 AM.
