(Fremont County, WY) – The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Red Flag Warning for much of Fremont County, in effect from 12 PM today, March 24, through 9 PM on Wednesday, March 25.
“A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.”
The NWSR is calling for low humidity (as low as 10%), temperatures in the mid to upper 70s and lower 80s, and strong gusty southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph (with gusts up to 45 mph) each afternoon.
