UPDATE: The NWSR has updated the warning to include more of the Riverton area, as well as Arapahoe, Hudson, and Boysen State Park, through 4:45 PM.
(Fremont County, WY) – The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of Fremont County, effective until at least 4:15 PM today, August 27.
The Warning is for Central Fremont County, including Pavillion, Kinnear, and parts of Riverton.
“At 3:43 PM MDT, severe winds associated with an outflow boundary was located over Pavillion, moving southeast at 50 mph,” the NWSR shared. Winds could reach 60 mph, and pea-sized hail is possible. The thunderstorm is likely near the Ocean Lake area as of this writing.
