(Fremont County, WY) – The National Weather Service in Riverton has shared that Fremont County can expect elevated fire weather conditions starting tomorrow, June 19, through Saturday, June 21.
Hot, dry, and windy conditions begin tomorrow, the NWSR advises, with southwest winds gusting over 30 mph. Those winds are expected to increase to 35-45 mph by Friday and Saturday, with low humidity during this timeframe.
However, the NWSR added that a cold front is expected to arrive by Sunday, which will lower the high temperatures by 10-20 degrees.
The NWSR shared some tips to help avoid fire incidents, including making sure your campfire is out by drowning, stirring, and drowning again; checking trailer chains and motorized equipment to minimize the chance for sparks; and avoiding parking or driving vehicles over dry grass.
