(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, June 17, will start off sunny with increasing clouds by this afternoon, with scattered showers in northern parts of Fremont County, and wind gusts up 40 mph.
Those winds will continue into tonight, when a low pressure center over Idaho will be tracking east across the Northern Rockies through Tuesday, Lipson added, which will swing a dramatic cold front across the area tonight that will cause temperatures to plummet.
The National Weather Service in Riverton has also shared that precipitation along and behind the front will be light, but areas of Yellowstone may receive 1 to 2 inches of snow.
High temperatures will be in the 80’s for most today, with Lander at 75 degrees and Dubois and the South Pass area in the upper 60’s.
Lows tonight will be in the upper 40’s for most, and down in the 30’s for Lander, Dubois and the South Pass area.
