The Bureau of Indian Affairs has released preliminary information about a pedestrian who was fatally struck by a truck on 17 Mile Road on Sunday, January 31st.
The incident happened near milepost 4.5 near Ethete around 6:15 pm. The BIA has identified the victim as 46-year-old Melissa April Brown.
According to the released information, the driver of the truck was westbound and three pedestrians were crossing the roadway. The driver avoided two of the three pedestrians.
No other information has been released about the incident. County 10 will share an update if more details are shared by authorities.
The deceased is not to be confused with Melissa Ann Brown who lives off of 17 Mile near Arapahoe.
