(Fort Washakie, WY) – Festive citizens gathered last night to usher in the Christmas season in Fort Washakie, for the Eastern Shoshone Tribe’s 5th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade.

The tree lighting at the post office happened right after dark, followed by the parade, which traveled from the powwow grounds to the post office and back past Rocky Mountain Hall. Children and their families gathered at Rocky Mountain Hall for a chili dinner served with hot chocolate and a chance to meet Santa. A slew of raffle prizes were also handed out throughout the evening.
