(Lander, WY) – Futurebirds returned to Lander Presents this weekend, and if the crowd’s reaction was any indication, the Athens, Georgia band has cemented its place as one of the favorite acts to grace the series over the last few years.

From the first notes, the audience was on its feet, dancing and singing along to the lyrics. This kind of familiarity doesn’t accompany every band during the summer concert series. Futurebirds have built a genuine following in Lander, and each return visit has started feeling a little more like a homecoming.
At the heart of the band’s sound are the harmonies shared between its three frontmen, Thomas Johnson, Carter King, and Daniel Womack. The trio trade verses and stack voices in a way that gives the band’s brand of cosmic country rock its signature warmth, and those harmonies rang out beautifully into the Lander Thursday.
